It's been a long while since I updated, and even longer since I posted photos. I plan to change that this year, although the photos will be a challenge. Our house is being remodeled so space is at a premium and my dolls have mostly been in storage.

I'm working on a better organization system, although my doll spreadsheet does at least help keep me up with what is on hand.

More later--I just got out of the hospital!

Wow, for once, I did have time (and the light) to take pictures on the day I received a doll. Mariposa is a Volks Lucia on an SD-10 body. (She usually comes on an SDgr body, but I don't care for those). I was a little afraid the head would be a bit small but it was a perfect match. I got the body off of Dollyteria, and while it does need some TLC (cleaning, a bit of sanding, new MSC), the color is pretty close to the head. It also kept the price of the doll VERY low for a Volks SD buying it this way.

I've only "frankendolled" one of my other dolls (Sophia, my first Bluefairy Xiao). I prefer to buy the body and head together, but this was a chance and I jumped on it. Lucia was a grail of mine, but I didn't like her body. So this gave me a chance to do as I liked.

Anyway, here is her picture:

and full body. I'm still not very good at posing these larger dolls.

Oh, I've missed my doll time so much.

Just had a lovely transaction through Facebook and got a SDMidi Standard Momo at a good price. I took about an hour to pick out a pair of eyes for her (Volks HG Glass, cadet blue with white lines, 16mm). I think 18mm might look better on her but her eye sockets just aren't big enough. Her name is Cecilia.

No pictures as yet, I don't have a place to take them right now because of moving boxes. She is a cutie, though. Very anime feel to her.

Rather excited. We've almost finished with the remodeling of our house (at least for this year--more to come in the future). The walls are now a creamy white, which should mean more light and a chance to take better pictures! I've also cleared out the Guest Bedroom to make a craft room, which will allow me to work on my doll mods without worrying about the cats. (The trundle bed from there went down into the library room.) So finally a place to work on face-ups!

Storage remains an issue and probably will continue to be. If I end up selling any of my collection, it would be for that reason. Although I don't intend to sell.

While my focus is pretty narrow as to the kinds of dolls I like (Volks, Bluefairy, some of the Luts Kid Delf line), there are a variety of the kinds of dolls I collect. There are the pristine Grail Dolls, who really don't need much work, only some styling for pictures. There are the nostalgia dolls, which would include most of the SD-sized Volks dolls I have. I find the SD size a challenge to work with, but they are so beautiful, and they are what I immediately think of when I think of ball-jointed dolls. And there are the Rescue/Project dolls. Those are usually older sculpts who have seen better days, mostly gotten at a bargain, that I want to fix up for the fun of it. I've done a few and have been pleased with the results. I still have a few sitting in the closet awaiting my attentions.

Still waiting on the Volks SD Charlotte I preordered several months ago. And Volks USA offered a Full Choice Service event this month that included a SDM sculpt that I have long admired (F-45), so there's a pre-order on that, which will also be a few months. And then the impulse buy, a Volks MSD F-24. I've always liked the expression on F-24 and they do nicely as boys or girls, although the one I am buying is a coordinate model girl.

While it will take some time to unpack, I'm hoping that by autumn I can get back to taking pictures again and sharing them with you!

Well, that was an unexpected delay. A big freeze in February ended up doing some significant damage to our ceilings. Very long short: insurance claim, roof repair, mold mitigation in attic, ceiling painting on our top two floors that forced us to move out most of our stuff from the first and second stories, either into the garage or a storage pod. Since we were having to pay for that move, we decided to go ahead and repair the drywall and paint on the top two floors. Then a deep cleaning and all our stuff will be moved back in, although I will be doing some unpacking and rearranging.

We lost little Shigure, my odd-eyed Japanese Bobtail kitten to a viral disease in March, and that was horrifying. At the same time, I was doing battle with the insurance company for repairs on our house, and honestly, I just didn't feel like talking about dolls just then.

SDMidi Eric did arrive and is lovely. He will be a great match for my SDMidi Tenshi Mamu. I can't wait to get them dressed up and take pictures with the two of them! I picked up a used Luts Kid Delf Maska Romance--needs cleaning and restringing but has an interesting face-up. I had sold my Maska years ago and always regretted it. This "Romance" Maska has half-closed eyes. If Luts offers the open-eyed Maska again, I will jump at the chance, but it doesn't seem likely at this point in time. I think it has been nearly 7 years since Maska has been offered? Not a popular sculpt, alas.

Got an unusual Dollyteria find on the way...a Yo-Midi Cyndy on a SDM body. The original Cyndy (an SD-13, a size I don't collect) was lovely. The Yo-Midi dolls (Midi-sized heads on Yo-sized bodies) never appealed to me, but one of my friends took a Yo-Midi head (one of the boys, not sure which) and put him on a SD-Midi body and that worked out fine. Turns out someone in Japan had the same idea--there were all of the Yo-Midi dolls on SDM bodies. I wasn't interested in the boys, but Cyndy is a gorgeous sculpt and I jumped at that. My husband was kind enough to indulge me. He rather liked Cyndy's design, a throwback to Volks old anime-styled dolls.

I also took advantage of Volks' preorder, so at some point in December (maybe?), an SD Charlotte will be coming my way. I was so disappointed when they released Luna with Liselotte rather than Charlotte, but this opportunity came up (through Volks USA even!) and I went for it.

No pictures right now as everything is packed away, but I am rearranging areas so that I will be able to more easily work on the dolls and take pictures of them! I've got several projects I want to try, and just haven't had the time due to the pressures of real life. I'm really itching to getting back to my dolls, especially the ones that needs some TLC. There's something really satisfying about taking a doll that is not pristine, and working to make it "whole" again. Nothing against pristine dolls--I love my gorgeous girls, but bringing new life to an old doll is a passion.

Well, both the Volks Rose and Bluefairy Xiao arrived and are in good shape. Rose needs some cleaning up and she was sent unstrung, so that saves me a step--I can clean her up, sand the seams, and restring her. The face-up is original but seems to be in good shape. Just need to take a day to sort out my modding materials and get to work. Her new name with be Sakura. I usually use Japanese names for my SD-sized Volks dolls and was shocked that I didn't have a Sakura already, as I do love that name.

The Bluefairy Xiao 1st arrived earlier this week. I was worried because of the absolutely frigid temperatures, but she came through okay. For a doll her age (she's from 2007), she is in fantastic shape, and the custom face-up by Mingyi (Deadly Nightshade) is stunning. I will eventually take her apart to sand her seams, but otherwise she's in great shape. I named her Kaisu after a doll collecting friend of mine from Finland (Xaya), who happens to have a number of the Bluefairy Xiao/Lin sculpts. They are so stylish that any time I think of Xiao, I'm reminded of her, and I thought her name is really pretty.

Wonder of wonders, the light was right today for me to take a few pictures of Kaisu! Photography is one of my favorite hobbies within the doll hobby, and I haven't had much time to indulge lately.

Kaisu

I really like this look with the blonde hair. Her eyes, which came with her, are Enchanted Doll Urethane ED #29 (a sort of hazel green), 16mm. Not a color I would have thought to pick myself, but they go very well with her, so I think she'll keep them.

Kaisu

The seller included a dress from Volks, and Luts shoes that matched it perfectly.

Kaisu

This was the seller's default wig for her, a very cute bob (also Leekeworld, I think?). The hair color goes very well with her eyes.

Kaisu

And the default Bluefairy Bang Sauvage black wig.

Kaisu

And the oldstyle Bluefairy default school outfit. I think they changed it in 2009 or so? I have a few dolls that came with this one. Not the original white socks but the black tights work well with the look.

I'm absolutely delighted with her, and look forward to more photo sessions, maybe with some of my other Xiao dolls!

My Volks SD Rose did NOT arrive in time for my birthday, but it looks like it'll be here Thursday or Friday. She'll be unstrung, so I can go ahead and clean her up first before stringing her.

Because it was my birthday and my husband spoils me, I have another Bluefairy on the way. This is a Xiao 1st sculpt (the more smiley one) from 2007. I actually inquired about it some time ago, but the gal didn't see my message until today. Since she put it up in November, I had no idea if the doll was still available--turns out she is and will come in her box with extras.

I'm so pleased that my husband agreed to let me get her. I absolutely love the Xiao sculpt and this doll looks to have been well taken care of. Not sure when she'll arrive yet, waiting on shipping details. But super-excited! Xiao 1st is a very rare sculpt, they only had her for a couple of years then replaced her with the 2nd Xiao, who looks more serious.

I did hear from the Volks Lottery and SDM Eric will be coming home sometime in March (depending on shipping). He's very cute and would be a nice partner for my SDM Mamu Tenshi.

I have to be good for the rest of the year, though. Although I did reserve the right to do a FCS with Volks if they offer a SDM F-57, which is the sleeping head of the F-33. I actually wrote Volks USA about whether we might have a chance to get this doll in the US, and they wrote me a nice letter back. They usually only offer 1 FCS for the mini sized dolls a year, so it may not happen for awhile. However, I figured that it wouldn't hurt to let them know that the sculpt might be popular. SDM F-33 is a very popular sculpt, and they have offered it a couple of times in the US, so the sleepy version probably would do well here, too.

Since the pandemic is raging and there's not many places I want to try to go, plus I'm still recovering from a stomach bug that knocked me out flat for about a week, I decided I wanted to make time next week to set up a photo shoot for some of my dolls that I haven't taken pictures of yet. That will be my birthday celebration, I think.

I haven't heard about the Volks lottery yet, but I did stumble on a nice deal on a Volks SD Rose. She's an older doll (2008) but I always liked the sculpt and have wanted to get one for years. Rose comes up from time to time, but either she's too expensive, or being sold as "head only" or has been put on another body (like the SD 13, which is larger than I want). But this girl was intact, SD 10 Suwarikko body. <--I may have to wire her--Suwarikko legs tend to be unsteady.

The price was right, but she'll be sent unstrung (to save on shipping) and won't have her original box or papers. She does have the original headplate, though, and I traced her through DOA, so she's legit.* I happen to have an SD-sized carrier I can store her in. And it's not a big deal to restring her--I would have taken her apart anyway to clean and probably sand the seams, etc. Found her via Facebook, but the gal selling her has been on DOA for years and has a good reputation. She's mailing her Saturday, but with the USPS being so backed up, it may not arrive in time for my birthday.

*Don't get me started on recasts.

Well, the Volks SDC Arashi on the MSD boy body was delivered the day after Xmas. He was in better shape than I thought, although he definitely needs some TLC. I'll take him apart, take out the glue sueding (hate that, drives me crazy), sand the seams, and restring him. He needs some cleaning up. There's a few marks on the face-up, but if I'm careful, I think I can preserve it? We'll see how it goes.

Rory

I was going to name him Rory, but he's definitely not a Rory. I named him Jasper instead, after my 2nd favorite character from Twilight. (Bella's dad Charlie is my hands-down favorite, but I don't like the name Charles.)

Jasper came without eyes, but I have two sets that might do for him. A Luts blue glass 16mm and an Enchanted Eyes urethane (Milky #6) 16mm. I got the brown eyes for another doll (Kaj, my Luts Kid Delf Almond) and I need to pull him out and check to see if I changed the eyes out already.

The story with Kaj was one of those learning experiences. Several years ago, when Luts introduced their Yuz Kid Delf sculpt, I wanted to get a pair of Kid Delfs to be brothers. At the time, they were offering cat ears/tails, so these two were going to be the Malachy brothers, a pair of mischievous cat boys. However, when they came in, it didn't work at all. Kieran (Yuz KDF) had a much smaller head that Kaj (Almond KDF). So Kieran kept the Malachy surname and I gave Kaj a Swedish surname, Utne. No particular reason, I just thought Kaj Utne sounded cool.

The new boys

Kaj and Kieran. The vampirish red eyes are Enchanted Doll urethane Milky #19) So much for my cat brothers plan!

His secret

Kieran did still do the Cat Boy thing, though.

Kaj's New Eyes

Kaj had brown eyes for awhile, but they ended up going to Bryony (Bluefairy Kate) because I wanted a brown-eyed blonde girl. These are Enchanted Doll Milky #31 and Milky #4 (half-graduation) with Milky #6 rim (variations of brown) urethane, 16mm, low dome.

Sailor Boy Kaj

So Kaj got Blue eyes (these are Droprop Cobalt Blue urethane). But I think I switched him back to his original Enchanted Eyes Milky #19 (red) and gave the blue to Jillian (Dream of Doll DOC Tender Too girl). But she may have to give them back.

So this eye thing can get complicated, but this kind of customization is what makes BJDs so fun.

But back to Jasper. His eye choice will really depend on what wig I chose for him and his style of dress, which I won't know until after I clean him up a bit and try things out.

Well, another doll coming in. Found it very cheap on Ebay, made an offer and got it even cheaper, and since it's shipping within the US, the shipping fee is reasonable. No box, but I'll figure it out--I think I've got a shipping box of the right size that my harp stand came in. He's a Volks SDC Arashi on an MSD body, and I know he's legit because I managed to track the doll through Den of Angels since his original owner.

He's another project doll. I tend to come across these from time to time--dolls that have been well-loved and/or badly used and mainly just need a clean-up and restringing. If you're willing to take a chance, this is a great way to get a quality BJD for cheap and then mod it however you want. This doll is old (2005) but just looks like he needs a bit of cleaning up. Hoping I can salvage the current face-up. Still had the headplate, which is nice, but no box. I think I have a box or perhaps a carrier that I can use to store him in.

A couple of seller pics. I just really liked his face, and I don't mind the MSD body, since most of the pictures I take require minimal posing.

volks_arashi_on_msd_body_leslie_2_20201220

The doll. The thing to watch with switching MSD and SDC heads/bodies is the head size. SDC heads are a bit smaller, but the Arashi sculpt was one of the larger ones and the proportions look decent.

volks_arashi_on_msd_body_leslie_20201220

Close-up on the Face-up. Looks like dirt, probably hasn't been stored properly. Definitely yellowing, but it's even. From DOA records, looked like the hybrid was done in 2006, by the 2nd owner, who wanted the more-posable SDC body for a different head. So the body and head are around the same age. Mismatched resin tone is the worst thing about hybrid dolls, and the reason why I don't have many of them.

I think I'll name him Rory? We'll see once he gets here. Sometimes you really have to have a doll in hand before settling on a name.

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to put in some more time with my dolls, since the pandemic is keeping me close to home anyway.

Well, Mother SD did not smile upon me for the lottery, but I did find a lovely SDMidi on Mandarake, which I bought instead (and was half the price of what I would have had to pay for a lottery doll). She's an SDMidi F-42 Coordinate Model.

F-42 is the "Sweet Dreams" versions of the MSD F-20 head, which means she has barely-opened eyes. And honestly, I wasn't a fan of that F-20. It was one of the ones you could easily find in the US (I guess Volks USA had it as a FCS option a few times), but I didn't like her expression, which looked a bit derpy to me. But the situation is like the standard SDMidi Noa. I didn't care for her in Normal Skin, but the White Skin version was gorgeous. And the face-up on this one is phenomenal. They even went to the trouble of painting the teeth!

Due to the pandemic (and mismanagement of our US Postal Service), Mandarake only ships DHL to the USA now. Ouch, that was more pricey than I liked, much more than EMS usually costs, and it irritated me that they shipped the doll in a SD-sized shipping box. DHL prices by size, not weight, so if Mandarake had just packed the doll in a proper box, it might have save me some money. On the plus side, there wasn't the anxious wait for the doll to go through customs. DHL has some kind of deal with customs and their packages speed right through.

I flip-flopped on the names. I originally was going to call her Bianca, but once I saw her, the name just didn't fit. Catherine sounded good, but that name is just everywhere now. I went with Harper instead, because I've taken up playing the Harp lately. Gorgeous doll, in perfect shape. The photos online did not do her justice at all.

Someone had changed out the eyes at one point (they weren't glued in as is usual with Volks), and they looked to be Volks HG eyes, but I can't be sure. They were light grey and nice enough, but with a narrow-eyed doll, I've found you need light, bright eyes in order for them to show up properly in photographs. I had some extra urethane eyes I'd gotten for sale a couple of years ago from Lemon Jelly Eye Shop (are they still open?), and found a nice pair in light blue that show up well.

The doll came with the box (that's a big deal with me, I store my dolls in their boxes), part of the default clothing set (missing undies, stockings, and shoes), all the paperwork including the certificate, and the default wig, which actually goes perfectly with her. I have a number of these MSD/SDMidi Coordinate Model dolls and absolutely love them. While I have a few SD-sized Volks dolls, I really prefer the mini size (MSD/SDMidi). They are easier to store, easier to handle, and easier to photograph.

It's raining today and is very dark, so I can't take decent pictures, but Harper is a lovely doll and I'm very pleased to add her to the collection. I need to do some furniture rearrangement so that I can set up a light box and get back to doing my doll photography again.

So I did entry for the Volks USA Holiday One-Off Lottery. No idea if Mother SD will smile down upon me. I entered for SDC Mina, SD Lieselotte, SD13 Suigintou, and SDGr Lucia. If I win, it will only be one of these, and Volks will choose which one. I thought very hard about the SD Shinku, but I absolutely hated the face-up and styling they chose. And seriously, why buy a one-off if you hate the styling?

Bluefairy has retired a lot of the older sculpts and introduced some new ones, but I just can't get past my dislike of the newer body designs. I shall treasure the ones I have.

Despite the pandemic, I haven't had much doll time. I need to do some rearranging in my house so that I have the space to work with them, probably in the guest room so I can keep the kittens from messing with them, LOL. It's been a long time since I had kittens in the house, and when I started collecting BJD's, the cats we had were older and not that interested in them. I never put the dolls out for display because of the cats, (they stay stored in their boxes) but I could work on the dolls, dress them, take pictures, etc without much interference. Smoky and Ryoko, being older cats, aren't a problem, but Shigure and Tsurayuki, being curious kittens, might cause some chaos. It's the same thing with my husband's miniatures and 3-D printers. He's got those down in the basement, but the room needs work so that we can set up a paint station, etc.

I would like to make more time for my dolls in the upcoming year, especially with the pandemic canceling so many of my other hobbies. We'll see how it goes.

Meanwhile, fingers crossed!

Still here, still in the BJD hobby. Unfortunately, between the pandemic, handling my father's estate, and adding three cats to our family, I have not had any time with my dolls at all. Probably won't have any free time for awhile. We'll see how things progress in the new few months.

So my birthday is coming up and my husband was kind enough to buy me a doll, which arrived yesterday during the snowstorm! She's a Volks SD-Midi Noa White Skin Limited. Her name is Mallory. She came with the standard pajama set, but her wig is a soft pink, and well-suited to her face-up.

Noa is one of the current Volks Standard SD-Midi's, but for a short time, they offered her and Mia (one of the SD-sized standard dolls) in White Skin. Noa is actually the most popular of the current SD-Midi standards, but I preferred Hina (who I got for Christmas in 2018). I didn't particularly like Noa at first.

It's funny, but Noa didn't appeal to me until I saw her in White Skin. I don't know if it was the face-up that changed my mind or what. It's like Bella, my SD-Midi F-43, which is the same sculpt as the discontinued standard Mako/Dai, but in White Skin and a nicer face-up. Sometimes that makes a difference as to whether a doll appeals to me.

With all the winter storms lately, the light hasn't been very good for pictures at all. I've got a light-box that I need to set up and we'll see if that can help!

Just out of curiosity, I was trying to see if my Volks dolls finally had outnumbered my Bluefairy krewe. I pretty much stopped buying Bluefairy when they went to the double-jointed bodies a few years ago and devoted my attention to Volks after that, although I have picked up a few dolls from other companies. I also want to note that ALL of my dolls are legitimate dolls. I don't support recasts.

I have a few DOA off-topic dolls not mentioned here, a couple of Hujoo Freyas and a mini-Freya, some of the old 1/6 Volks dollfies that I picked up cheap when they were discontinued, and a Scary Godmother from Jill Thompson's kickstarter a few years back, as well as 2 Hujoo pet dolls.

At this point, I have

38 Bluefairy Tiny Fairies
7 Bluefairy Junior Shiny Fairies (I prefered the Junior size to the regular Yo-SD Shiny Fairy size)
2 Bluefairy Pocket Fairies, both sugar-sized.

So a total of 47 dolls from Bluefairy.

From Volks I have

35 Mini-Super Dollfie/Super Dollfie Midi sized dolls
12 Super Dollfie dolls
8 Dollfie Dream (vinyl) dolls

So 55 from Volks. Volks wins!

So at this point Volks outnumbers Bluefairy. I sometimes wonder if I should have just gone with Volks to begin with, but when I started, Bluefairy was much more accessible and cheaper. However, they've become more exclusive and upped their prices, and truth be told, I just dislike their new body designs. But I do treasure my classic Bluefairy dolls.

Over the years I have picked up a few dolls from other companies:

2 Angel Region
7 Luts Kid Delf
2 Dream of Doll/Dream of Children (MSD size)

So it's quite a large collection. I have bought several dolls directly from the companies, but more than half of the collection is second-hand, usually from others getting out of the hobby, or adopting dolls that need a little TLC. DOA is still one of my favorite sources for 2nd hand dolls, since I know I'm getting them from other collectors. However, Mandarake and Dollyteria (both in Japan) have some good legit finds. You used to be able to get some real bargains on there, but I think since they figured out there is a market they can access in the US, they've upped their prices. Still, if you're willing to put in some work, bargains can still be found. I enjoy finding dolls that need a bit of work, taking them apart, cleaning them up, sanding their seams, and giving them a new lease on life. I still want to learn to do decent face-ups, so that I can truly customize my dolls.

At first, I tried to keep the male/female ratio even, but I found that for the most part, I preferred female dolls, although I do like the young boy sculpts. My taste tends towards the ordinary, Victorian or Edwardian style dress, or for Japanese, Meiji or Taisho styles. But I do have some more modern doll clothes that I picked up early in the hobby and sometimes it's fun to dress the dolls up with them.

My favorite size is obviously the MSD (mini) size. I do like my Super Dollfies and they certainly make a big visual impact and are impressive dolls, but they can be difficult to handle for photography. Easier to sew for, though.

I absolutely love being able to customize eyes and wigs, although once I find a combination that works for a particular doll, I tend to keep it like that. I used to do group pictures, but that got to be too time-consuming and difficult (since I store the dolls in their boxes), so usually I won't have more than 3 out at a time.

My first doll was a Bluefairy Tiny Fairy Emilie. My latest is a Volks SDMidi F-46 Coordinate model. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll add more to the collection, unless I manage something on a Volks lottery.

I dearly want to attend a Volks Dolpa someday, even if it is one in the US, but right now it's not practical.

Not long after I did my last post, my little black cat Tsuki was diagnosed with liver disease, and died within a month, so I was spending most of my time with her in her last days. No time for dolls.

My SDMidi Una Sweet Dreams did arrive nicely. From Japan did a good job. She's absolutely gorgeous. I've been cleaning up my library area, hoping I can get set up to take some pictures.

There's a new girl on her way as well. Found her on Dollyteria, a SDMidi Coordinate Model F-46 girl. I've wanted an F-46, but that is usually a boy model and Sato-only. However, I have seen on some Volks announcements that they did make a few F-46 girl coordinate models. Fair price, although she's not coming with eyes, wig, or clothing. That's not an issue as I have enough to customize her. She should arrive next week. I decided to call her Prudence, after my favorite character from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. (I do love the name Sabrina as well, but that one is taken by a Bluefairy Tiny Fairy Jasmine!)

Okay, we'll see how this goes. I saw the picture of the SDMidi form of Una Sweet Dreams, which is a Sato-only special (Una is always Sato-only). I managed to get my hand on the SDMidi Una that they released last year, and the Sweet Dreams version (sleepy-eyed) is absolutely gorgeous.

I first checked with a proxy buying service, who was friendly and willing to go, but they are based in Tokyo, so I'd have to add travel fees, which would not be refundable if the doll sold out before they got there. They were very up front and honest about that, and I told them I appreciated it, but the uncertainty was too much. However, they are still an option if I ever want to do a FCS that isn't available from Volks USA. However, I try to utilize Volks USA whenever I can since supporting them keeps them over here.

The scalpers already had a few up on Yahoo Japan auctions, so I decided to use From Japan, a proxy service that has had good feedback on Den of Angels. Mixed feedback elsewhere, but a lot of that had to do with people pissed off about shipping charges for smaller anime items or consolidating orders. Even with the scalpers' markup, it still was a bit cheaper doing it that way. It's a gamble and I'm a bit worried, but I did win the doll on auction, so we'll see how From Japan does for forwarding the item.

In other news, I really need to get my husband to put up the tools he has stacked up on my worktable so I can finally get some pictures taken! I got in the Leekeworld 9-10 size wigs, which did end up working very well for my Super Dollfie dolls, and I'd like to get some photos and figure out which wig will go with which doll!

As a review for Leekeworld, they still have wonderful service. The wigs shipped right away and were all in fine condition. There's a reason I keep choosing them for my doll wigs.

Oh, good heavens. This one is huge. 9 pages of items?

The Icon dolls were a pass. They are beautiful but not my style at all. And I don't like the Dear SDs, so safe from them. But the clothes! This was like four months of releases all at once?! I wish they had spaced them out and made it cheaper that way.

I put in for the ones I liked and hoped maybe there might be enough of my favorites, but dang, it's gonna be pricey. I really, really want the Ash Rose School Girl outfits. I missed them when they came out a few years ago, then wonder of wonders, they were re-released for the 20th anniversary! They're extremely popular, so I'm not sure if I'll get lucky enough.

It looks like they're holding back some of the Ash Rose outfits for the click-war later in the month, so I may have another chance if I strike out (or maybe I can get a second one so I can have two girls matching?).

The Volks Full Choice System doll that I ordered back in July finally arrived! She's a F-73 on an SD-10 body and her name is Isuzu. No pictures yet as my husband has been putting together some bookshelves in the area where I normally would take pictures. That's just as well, as I haven't decided on her wig yet.

As I thought, she is a lovely match for Ayame, my Lieselotte. I ordered her in the same skintone and the face-up is very similar (and gorgeous, OMG), so they will look good together.

I wasn't sure what size wig would do for her. I tried on an 8-9 wig and a 9-10 wig. She can fit the 8-9 wig but with difficulty, so the headsize is a true 9, I think. The 9-10 wig fit better, although the style of the one I had wasn't right for her. I have some 9-10 wigs on order from Leekeworld now. Was really surprised when I ordered that they had my old address, then realized that since moving here, I'd ordered most of my Leekeworld wigs from Denver Doll Emporium. Less selection, but cheaper shipping, and they've been good about fixing issues if something was wrong with an order. But they don't seem to carry the 9-10 size?

Looking forward to seeing what I can do with this girl, style-wise. While MSD-size will always be my favorite, I have to say these larger dolls make quite the impact and I can see why they are the most popular size!
