The Volks Full Choice System doll that I ordered back in July finally arrived! She's a F-73 on an SD-10 body and her name is Isuzu. No pictures yet as my husband has been putting together some bookshelves in the area where I normally would take pictures. That's just as well, as I haven't decided on her wig yet.

As I thought, she is a lovely match for Ayame, my Lieselotte. I ordered her in the same skintone and the face-up is very similar (and gorgeous, OMG), so they will look good together.

I wasn't sure what size wig would do for her. I tried on an 8-9 wig and a 9-10 wig. She can fit the 8-9 wig but with difficulty, so the headsize is a true 9, I think. The 9-10 wig fit better, although the style of the one I had wasn't right for her. I have some 9-10 wigs on order from Leekeworld now. Was really surprised when I ordered that they had my old address, then realized that since moving here, I'd ordered most of my Leekeworld wigs from Denver Doll Emporium. Less selection, but cheaper shipping, and they've been good about fixing issues if something was wrong with an order. But they don't seem to carry the 9-10 size?

Looking forward to seeing what I can do with this girl, style-wise. While MSD-size will always be my favorite, I have to say these larger dolls make quite the impact and I can see why they are the most popular size!

So two dolls on their way now, both Volks Super-Dollfie. First is a Volks Standard Megu, the 2008 renewal. Found a nice on on Mandarake, looks like it hasn't been used at all. I've wanted a 4-Sisters doll for years, and while I love my SDM-sized Kira, the SD Megu was the first Volks. I like that it is the 2008 renewal, though, as by that time Volks had corrected some of their early engineering issues (like those knees that would crack). The price was good, and this was a collector's purchase. My concern now is finding a few 9-10 sized wigs, since the older Volks had larger heads. Most of my larger doll wigs are 8-9. Her name will be Akane. Not sure if I'll redo her classic simplistic face-up.

Volks also is offering a FCS (Full-Choice Service) through Volks USA. I've passed on those for years, mostly because the limited offerings. But this time they had F-73, a doll I've really admired, and I wanted to have the FCS experience at least once! I did opt for a face-up since Volks does very nice ones now. I was surprised that she wasn't much more than the standard doll costs, but then again, she will come without a wig or welcoming outfit. Which is fine, I have wigs and outfits that will work. Her name will be Isuzu and I think she'll be a nice match for Ayame, my Lieselotte.

We're doing some changes in our library room that will hopefully allow me to finally get back to taking pictures of my dolls again! I'd like to be able to have portraits of all of them, although some of that will have to wait for a few face-ups.
