Real life decided to get real lately, so I haven't had much doll time. I did get another Bluefairy--an old Gus (which has been discontinued for a few years). He was fairly cheap because he needs a little TLC, but I've gotten good at doing that for Bluefairy dolls!

His o-hook became disconnected, so that needs to be fixed. Looks like the s-hook is still on there, just need to pry it out from the calf piece. Also needs some clean-up and seam-sanding. His eyelashes are coming out, but those can be replaced. Otherwise he's in decent condition. His name will be Samuel.

Kinda strange to see eyelashes (the standards didn't use to come with them), which makes me wonder if he was a limited? The face-up is nicer than usual, too. He was from Mandarake, so no provenance there. The box is an older one, back when they had nice boxes, so pre-2011. I'll need to dig around a bit and see if I can narrow down a year.

Finally an update on the missing Volks F-18 from Dollyteria. Japan Post finally got confirmation from the USPS that the package is lost, so they will honor the insurance and I will get a full refund. I hate that the doll went missing like that (probably stolen?) but at least I won't be out money for it. And THAT is why I always ask for insurance and insist the full cost be listed on custom forms!

Volks has come out with 3 new standard SD-Midi dolls! Momo, Hina, and Noa. Everyone is gushing about Noa, but Hina is actually my favorite of the three. Momo is okay, definitely a throw-back to Volks anime-style roots. Hina is a classic beauty, though and I hope I can get one. I much prefer these to the now-retired Mako and Dai SD-Midis (same sculpt, just female and male). I did in fact find a lovely F-43 (the Mako sculpt) but in white skin and with a face-up that didn't make her look so derpy.

I did message Volks USA to inquiry whether they would be carrying the new standards and they replied that they expect to. No date yet--it will probably be a couple of months since their goods are transported by ship. But shipping within the US is much easier that trying to get something from Japan, and I prefer to support Volks USA so that they can stay open!

Life is very busy at the moment, so I don't know when I will have time to take some pictures, but I will try to fit some in. I miss my doll time!
