Ope, Did It Again

Well, another doll coming in. Found it very cheap on Ebay, made an offer and got it even cheaper, and since it's shipping within the US, the shipping fee is reasonable. No box, but I'll figure it out--I think I've got a shipping box of the right size that my harp stand came in. He's a Volks SDC Arashi on an MSD body, and I know he's legit because I managed to track the doll through Den of Angels since his original owner.
He's another project doll. I tend to come across these from time to time--dolls that have been well-loved and/or badly used and mainly just need a clean-up and restringing. If you're willing to take a chance, this is a great way to get a quality BJD for cheap and then mod it however you want. This doll is old (2005) but just looks like he needs a bit of cleaning up. Hoping I can salvage the current face-up. Still had the headplate, which is nice, but no box. I think I have a box or perhaps a carrier that I can use to store him in.
A couple of seller pics. I just really liked his face, and I don't mind the MSD body, since most of the pictures I take require minimal posing.

The doll. The thing to watch with switching MSD and SDC heads/bodies is the head size. SDC heads are a bit smaller, but the Arashi sculpt was one of the larger ones and the proportions look decent.

Close-up on the Face-up. Looks like dirt, probably hasn't been stored properly. Definitely yellowing, but it's even. From DOA records, looked like the hybrid was done in 2006, by the 2nd owner, who wanted the more-posable SDC body for a different head. So the body and head are around the same age. Mismatched resin tone is the worst thing about hybrid dolls, and the reason why I don't have many of them.
I think I'll name him Rory? We'll see once he gets here. Sometimes you really have to have a doll in hand before settling on a name.
One of my New Year's Resolutions is to put in some more time with my dolls, since the pandemic is keeping me close to home anyway.
